Getting an Abbey National mortgage gives you access to one of the largest product ranges on offer, from an experienced and stable lender. Good deals for first time buyers and those with negative equity or a high loan to property value.
This well-designed site gives easy access to a range of current mortgages (remember, deals are only available for a matter of days before a new rate or proposition comes into effect). The Abbey National mortgage range is above average, as you'd expect from one of the UK's largest lenders. Like Nat-West, flexibility has not been bolted on to all products- you can usually have flexibility or benefits but not both.
The CAT standard mortgage makes an appearance, capped and cashback mortgages are available (this has become quite rare in these times of low interest rates), and there's a broader range of trackers than most providers. There is also a selection of products for sufferers of negative equity; designed to either soften the blow, or help to pay off the negative portion of the loan faster.
