Amongst traditional lenders, the Bristol & West are innovative, friendly, and open their doors to a wide selection of customers. There is accordingly an above average selection of products, particularly for bad credit customers, and if you're new to the market, getting a Bristol and West mortgage quote would make a good benchmark.

Bristol & West are in the top tier of lenders, and it's easy to see why- this helpful and friendly site points the way to a large range of products on offer at any one time. These include no less than 10 flexible mortgage options, and special selections for non-status or adverse credit customers. Many of these options are fundamentally the same mortgage but with tweaks- for example you can reduce the fees on a fixed rate mortgage by accepting a slightly higher interest rate.

Fees are relatively high (up to £400); but there are plenty of benefits in that most Bristol & West mortgage products carry some form of bonus, whether it be removal of legal fees, or a lump sum cashback. Also, fees are clearly presented on-site. Other lenders take note; here self-certified customers are treated the same way as ordinary borrowers- this is going to be a trend to follow. Non-status clients, whilst they can expect to still pay a higher rate, are also welcomed with a broad enough package of mortgages to have genuine choice.

As an aside, if you do go with a Bristol and West mortgage, do check out their protection policies- you could get three months free protection; and they have unique policies which tie in with your overall family insurance.
