Charcol, as part of Bradford and Bingley, is one of the largest independent financial advisers in the UK. As such, they don't sell their own products, but recommend best buys from other sources. Charcol's fees come from the mortgage (they may charge 1% of what you borrow for credit arrangements- waived if you apply online, plus a booking fee of £49).
A very wide range is available, including complex mortgages whose costs are offset against international exchange rates; so seek their expert advice before buying if you feel you're in deep water. However, the enormous range of Charcol mortgage options does mean there are mortgages to suit every need, including 100% borrowing for those without much capital through to investing in overseas property.
Comprehensive tools include not just a borrowing calculator but also answers to "How much could I save by remortgaging" and a very useful "What mortgage suits me?" (try that first!)
